The guys behind Rockets in Rivonia and Parkhurst have expanded their brand to bring you Rockets in Bryanston. This vibey spot, located in Hobart Shopping Centre will no doubt offer the perfect setting for after-work drinks for those living in the neighbourhood, since Rivonia has closed. Famous for their cocktails and delicious pizzas, Rockets also do an amazing Thai curry and chicken rösti served with sour cream, sweet chilli sauce and a side salad. www.rocketslife.tv
Patachou Patisserie
We couldn’t get enough of Patachou Patisserie when they first opened their doors in Rivonia Village Shopping Centre, and luckily for us, we now get to visit two branches as they’ve opened another patisserie in Parktown North. Open daily for breakfast, brunch and lunch, Patachou offers Parisian style pastries and stuffed croissants for breakfast and quiches, sandwiches and salads for lunch. Black Tongue Bar
There’s a new bar in Dainfern and it’s already creating a buzz amongst locals. Found in Dainfern Valley Shopping Centre, Black Tongue offer a wide selection of Tapas and snacks like chicken wings, ribs and gourmet sliders as well as a selection of burgers. Sides include parmesan zucchini fries, stuffed olives and cheese balls. As for their drinks? Situated in the Piazza at the new 11 Alice Lane building, Wishbone Bistro Bar oozes a chic, contemporary dining space that is very much on trend. Whether it be a business breakfast, leisurely lunch or romantic dinner you’re after, Wishbone will certainly provide the perfect backdrop in between the hustle and bustle of Sandton’s business hub.For breakfast, try their muesli breakfast trifle or apple and maple flapjacks. We’ve been waiting patiently for Naked to open their kitchen bar in Morningside Shopping Centre ever since they announced their launch, and we can honestly say the wait has been worth it. Breakfasts include fried eggs with roasted vine tomatoes and pesto, healthy homemade muesli, pastries, while their lunch menu includes a variety of Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern inspired salads and veggies.
