About Bongi Mbanga
Bongi is a trained self-leadership coach and facilitator, specialising in self-leadership effectiveness, coaching, performance enhancement, personal change and transformation. She is passionate about helping people discover their potential and exploring new pathways to success.
She helps organisations to achieve business success with and through their staff, turning talent management strategies into operational processes by aligning the people development strategy with business goals and objectives.
Having worked for brands like Nike SA, The Foschini Group, M-Net, Tiger Brands and Element Six SA, Bongi comes from an extensive Human Resources Development background in the areas of management, training & development, project management, coaching and consultation. Her experience includes talent acquisition; employer branding, on-boarding; performance management; learning & development; leadership development; coaching; mentoring; and career transition.
About DJ Zinhle
Born in Dannhauser, a small town in KwaZulu-Natal, Zinhle Jiyane aka DJ Zinhle is a Metro FM and SAMA award nominee who stepped into the South African DJ scene in 2004 and since then has become of the best female house DJs in South Africa. Her talent has grabbed the attention of one of Mzansi’s most respected DJs & Producers, DJ Oskido. Zinhle became the resident DJ for local TV Show, Jika Majika from 2006-2009 and this opportunity pushed her into the spotlight and made her a household name.
Founded in 2009, FUSE Academy is a DJ school founded and hosted by two young black females, with the purpose to empower young females interested in a career within the entertainment industry. DJ Zinhle partnered with Nomndeni Mdaki to launch The Firm Understanding of Sound Entertainment Academy (FUSE), the first DJing academy in South Africa that specifically targets female DJs.
The academy aims to empower young talented females in becoming DJ’s and the approach adopted by FUSE is a holistic one aimed at identifying and nurturing talent. FUSE Academy encapsulates the many challenges that females are faced with within the entertainment industry. It provides training, mentoring, and tutoring to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge required to succeed in the entertainment industry.
In 2013, Zinhle went on to launch her accessory brand, ERA by Zinhle and the brand has been a success in the South African market since its launch. Being an empowered woman is more than just doing, it is also about being.
