Victorinox Launches I.N.O.X
Victorinox’s I.N.O.X Mechanical has finally landed in SA and gives Victorinox fans another reason to fall in love with the brand. Since launching in 2014, its mechanical version has been eagerly anticipated. This exceptional collection needed a robust calibre addition.
Due to the delicate nature of automatic movements, several R&D were necessary to bring this model into life. At first sight, nothing distinguishes the quartz model from its mechanical version, with identical style, proportions and features, three hands and date.
However, a transparent back case show the mechanism behind it. The guilloche dial, in the style of the Swiss Officer’s Knife is what makes the design stand out. I.N.O.X. signature bezel has been coated to make it even more resistant to wear and tear keeping the shine intact for longer. Available at selected retailors in Johannesburg.
Mayine Gin
SA’s first ever gin bursary has just been awarded to the country’s first black-owned gin brand – Mayine Gin. Mayine is managed by a husband and wife team from Khayelitsha in the Western Cape – Luvuyo and Nodumo Jongile – who have had an inspiring and exciting series of events, and have just taken home a R100 000 bursary to help grow their business.
Launched on World Gin Day, 9th June, in which Jongile attended his first promotional event with The Gin Box in Illovo, Johannesburg, the bursary will conclude in 12 months’ time and will culmnate in a trip to London’s Juniperlooza Festival next year on World Gin Day where he’ll mix with some of the biggest names in gin around the world. Mayine Gin is available at selected bottle stores around Johannesburg.
Bvlgari Serpenti
The new Bulgari Serpenti collection introduces a set of three delicate, new diamond pavé jewels. Coiled with the masterful craftsmanship of the Roman jeweller, each facet of the diamond necklace, bracelet and earrings are hand-set with stones of various sieves, to create the allusion of movement within their wearable settings.
The snake symbol has been redesigned into three new versions with graceful, thinner scales in white gold and diamond pavé. As supple and sensual as a snake, the radiant necklace coils the neck to graze the décolleté with its tail, sparkling in over 8 carats of daring diamond glamour. To match, the serpentine shape of the bracelet takes a Bulgari twist on the classic tennis bracelet, reinterpreted per the innovative style of the Maison.
