There are beach resorts and then there’s LUX*. LUX* Belle Mare is situated on the east coast of Mauritius, in Belle Mare, roughly an hour’s drive from the airport. The resort is set on the island’s widest stretch of beach and, in my opinion, home to one of the most beautiful pearly white beaches I have ever seen.
Driving up to the entrance of LUX* Belle Mare, you are immediately overwhelmed by the beauty surrounding it, and enveloped into an experience that plucks you from your everyday life and drops you into a world that demands you stop and take a moment.
We were escorted to our beach-view junior suite upon arrival, and were blown away by how spacious and modern it was. Designed in neutral tones with pops of bright colour to add character, the suite featured a larger than life king-sized bed, a relaxing sitting area, a balcony overlooking the gardens, a spacious bathroom and a walk-in closet. We quickly settled in, to what felt like a home away from home, knowing our first night’s sleep would be blissful.
Waking up the next day to the sights and sounds of LUX Belle Mare was like something out of a movie. Since arriving late the night before, we had yet to see what was in store for us, and the setting certainly didn’t disappoint.
The crystal clear waters were gently crashing against the shoreline, the sun glistened between the palm trees and the chirping sounds of the exotic birds reminded us that we were on a tropical island. We knew we had arrived to paradise…
