During the course of 2017, Tristan has received two of the highest accolades for his own personal style. Receiving an award for GQ’s Best Dressed Men of The Year 2017 and being honoured with an SA Style Award for most stylish SA designer, Tristan explains what it’s like to be recognised as a style icon, saying,

“Style in our time is so multifaceted that we have much more freedom to express ourselves than before. Style has evolved past just echoing trends and has become an individualistic expression of ones aspirations and culture. I like to echo this in my designs as well, being flexible and ever evolving in my design ethos”, says Tristan.

He has also taken home an international Best Restaurant & Bar Design award for the Middle East and Africa category in 2016 for his work and design on the News Cafe in Rosebank and was shortlisted earlier this year for an International Hotel and Property Award held in Italy, for the incredible design of the MESH Members Club in the popular Keyes Art Mile in Rosebank.

“Knowing our work is recognised on this level cements the fact that our designs are in fact world-class and this does not only occur on projects offshore. To have the design of key spaces in our own country rival some of the most admired design spaces in the world is a celebrated moment”, Tristan adds.

It’s obvious to see Tristan Plessis continues to push the boundaries of both interior design and style.
