Sushi Burrito & Co. Opens Up In Melrose Arch

There’s a new sushi restaurant in town called Sushi Burrito & Co. in Melrose Arch and is, judging by its growing popularity, here to stay!

Sushi Burrito & Co. is situated in the heart of Melrose Arch

Sushi Burrito & Co. is a new and exciting concept for sushi lovers, and a first of its kind in South Africa. Mixing Asian and Latin flavours together, they serve flavourful sandwich-sized sushi that can either be ordered wrapped in Nori seaweed or rice paper and rolled in their famous crunch.

Some signature burritos include their crispy duck burrito with lettuce, spring onions, cucumber, beetroot, kale, cilantro and hoisin mayonnaise sauce, or their sukiyaki-style beef burrito served with a yaki-niku sauce. For those who prefer original sushi flavours, try the spicy raw tuna burrito or their raw salmon burrito served with a Sriracha mayo and wasabi sauce.

Other small dishes on the menu include flavourful steamed buns with fillings like BBQ boneless pork spareribs, panko-crumbed panga fish and teriyaki chicken; tempura prawns, crabstick rolls, chicken skewers and delicious tostadas (tacos). More filling mains include noodle, rice or poke bowls and salads.

As for their dessert? Sushi Burrito & Co. offers a selection of a few desserts with an Asian twist. Choose between their Nutella wonton served with lychee and ginger ice cream or their ice cream trio.

Their décor is cute and animated, almost as if you’ve stepped into a cartoon wonderland, and their colours are as bold as their flavours. The service is pleasant and attentive and the food portions are extremely generous. Plus, they’ll soon be offering a wine list once their liquor license comes through.

They also do take-away orders and will soon launch a catering service, offering platters to your office or home.
