Ash Heeger is one of the coolest chefs on the Cape Town block. Fearlessly female and sporting more tatts than some blokes we know, this pint-sized chef is making waves and literally going from strength to strength. Her restaurant ASH is currently (at the time of the interview) in the throes of being remodelled and renamed and the news should be hitting the streets soon about the new name and theme. Well I love three restaurants to be honest. Gemelli in Bryanston – they have really great food, great service and an amazing vibe. You feel at home when you are there. Workshop 55 in Parktown North – amazing, amazing, amazing mouth-watering food. DW 11 13 in Dunkeld – the experience is incomparable, the food is absolutely delicious and the service is out of this world. What is your favourite hotel in the city? I love boutique hotels. My three favourite boutique hotels in Joburg that I like the most are; The Marion on Nicol in Sandton, Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa & Atholplace Hotel and Villa in Atholl.
