Summer has never looked so fine – and we see cocktails on our horizon, that’s for sure! Thanks to the team at one of SA’s premium drinks companies – Truman & Orange we can now happily sip on our fave gin cocktails with the latest craze – Malfy Gin Rosa!
As the name suggests, the gin is stunning pink in colour and, typical of the exceptional, Italian quality we’ve come to expect from Malfy, no detail has been spared.
The bottle is beautifully frosted and boasts traditional Italian glass painting techniques, with the liquid bearing testament to the centuries of experience and heritage behind the Vergnano family and the traditional pot stills used to produce it.
Malfy Gin Rosa is an expert composition of classic Southern Italian citrus, Pompelmo Rosa (pink grapefruit) with Rabarbaro (rhubarb), which is grown widely and used in many classic Italian drinks such as Aperol.
Add to that juniper, grapefruit skins and rhubarb which are then infused in Italian grain spirit for 36 hours which results in Malfy Gin Rosa’s beautiful blush pink colour. Following a second infusion with more juniper, coriander, lemon peel, orange peel, Angelica root and Orris root for a few hours before finally being blended with pure, natural spring water from the Rocce Azzurre spring in the heart of the MonViso Mountain in the Cottian Alps.
Truman & Orange, are fast becoming known as the company that consistently rises to the challenge of providing beautifully-made drinks for today’s discerning drinkers. Having recently launched Mazzatti Birra Superiore and Mionetto Prosecco, both quintessentially Italian drinks, their best-known Italian offering is Malfy Italian Gin.
Available at all good bottle stores nationwide for approximately R 419 per bottle, Malfy Gin Rosa is the perfect balance of the bittersweet grapefruit and rhubarb flavours, with subtle juniper to offer a mouth-wateringly complex finish.
The Southern Italian citrus aromas and hints of juniper, coupled with the pink blush colour of the liquid make Malfy Gin Rosa perfect for a wide variety of Summer cocktails… Always garnished with a slice of grapefruit and sipped among friends! Saluti!
